Sutton Responding to Hate

Most of us are aware of the rising tensions in Britain around the Covid-19 crisis and more recently, the outrage expressed after the death of George Floyd.

Much of this is focused on racial tension and distrust of the migrant communities, disabled groups and the LGBT community and work to bring unity and mutual support across communities is needed more than ever.

Stop Hate UK is working closely with the London Borough of Sutton and Community Action Sutton to increase awareness of the issue of Hate Crime, to offer support to people experiencing or witnessing it, and to let residents know how to report it.

We will build upon existing good practice, increase advocacy for victims of Hate Crime and provide ongoing support and mentoring for community activists and organisations.

At the end of the project we hope to leave behind a more connected, sustainable, and resilient response to hate crime in Sutton.
