Latest Sheffield Hate Crime Scrutiny Minutes
Minutes from the June Scrutiny meeting are available to download here
Are you a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Trans person living in, working in or visiting Rotherham?
During June-August 2010 we are collecting as much information as possible about the experiences of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) people in Rotherham. Rotherham MBC and LGBT Rotherham are compiling a profile of LGBT people in Rotherham. This does not identify people individually, its purpose is to improve services by raising awareness within the Council and its partners about LGBT issues, and also to highlight that different LGBT people have different experiences and needs.
YOUR HELP IS VITAL!
To collect this information we have put together an easy to follow questionnaire. Most of the questions ask for simple tick responses and the whole questionnaire should take only a few minutes to complete. None of the questions are compulsory, but answering as many as possible will help you to skip sections irrelevant to you and save you time!

Get involved with Hate Crime Scrutiny Panels in Sheffield
Stop Hate UK in conjunction with South Yorkshire Police has recently developed the first Hate Crime Scrutiny panel, to review the way in which South Yorkshire Police investigate incidents motivated by hatred or prejudice based on Race, Relion and Belief, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity or Disability.
The aim of the panel is to ensure community representatives have the opportunity to review investigations, identify good practice and raise matters where there are concerns regarding the way in which the investigations were carried out. This will enable South Yorkshire Police to ensure they continually improve the manner in which they deal with hate incidents, leading to improved service to the communities they serve.
Scrutiny Panel meetings are held each month at a venue in Sheffield City Centre. If you would wish to find out more about the scrutiny panel process and how you could be involved please contact andrew@stophateuk.org or call 0113 2935100.
The scrutiny panel in Sheffield is supported by Stop Hate UK, an independent charity whose aim is to raise awareness of Hate Crime and its impact on victims, providing suport to those affected by hate crime and encouraging its reporting
