Lancashire MP uses maiden speech to highlight disability hate crime

Paul Maynard, MP has highlighted the issue of disability hate crime in his first speech as an MP.  The Blackpool North and Thornton Cleveleys Conservative MP is also the first MP with cerebral palsy.  He also suffers from epilepsy.

“It’s not just legislative equality, it’s changing the way people think so they don’t see disability anymore, “That’s why making sure we progress on disability hate crime is so important because that is about changing the way people think.”
