Panorama programme boosts public awareness of disability hate crime
Primetime TV coverage was given to disability hate crime last week by the BBCs Panorama programme. Undercover film and CCTV footage of disability hate crime and abuse was broadcast in a programme on disability hate crime in Bridgend, Wales. Wheelchair user Simon Green secretly filmed the shocking abuse he experienced and reveals that many incidents are not properly reported or prosecuted. Viewers commenting on the Panorama website were horrified by what they saw.
